New home, woodland edge
Most new home construction comes with what we call, “The Builder’s Special”– 6 azaleas, 8 boxwood, a couple of hydrangeas and they’re done. This transitional modern home was no different.
We were asked to create more interesting gardens, level and prepare an area for a swing set, create a bed for growing vegetables and herbs out of a defunct waterfall feature, and ”soften”, with plantings, a stone wall that was left unfinished. Being on the edge of a wooded conservation area, deer-resistant plants were essential.
